Are We Still Leaders Of Tomorrow by Amos Sumakada-REVIEW

Are We Still Leaders Of Tomorrow
REVIEW

The rethorical nature of the title of these chap book "Are We Still Leaders Of Tomorrow" is a simple question which would produce millions of answers. The author also didnt shy away from pointing fingers directly at the youths whom by now should have birthed a sense of togetherness to earn a firm voice in the national polity.
Mr Amos reminds his readers who are obviously youths that " According to the African youth charter, a youth is every person between the ages of 15 and 35 years". Amazingly, these figures individually put together constitute the highest voting population in Nigeria, as at the 2019 general elections.
The big question remains, What are we waiting for, are we scared, are we waiting for a savior? The author flash back to early Nigeria after independence when Shehu Shagari was a  federal legislator at 30, and a minister at 35
M.T. Mbu was also a minister at 25, and a High Commissioner to the United Kingdom at 26. Although, Debo Ogundoyin, a 31-year-old lawmaker in Oyo State and 34-year-old Abok Nuhu Ayuba, a legislator in Plateau State emerged as speakers in their respective states in the 9th assembly, alot needs to seen from the kind of legacies they try to leave behind.
These chap book take a deliberate effort at reawakening the dignity amongst the youth, which makes it a must read, it could easily pass for leadership and civic education.
