Any realistic person would agree that these days more freelancers are working in various fields than any other time in recent memory, and quite a bit of this explosion is directly identified with the rise of the Internet.


Freelancing simply means selling your skill (such as Coding, Writing, graphic designing, Website Building, photography, digital marketing, Telemarketing, customer care assistant, Software development, professional services etc.) on the internet in a digital format to a buyer (client).

These days, a freelancer is characterized as somebody who sells his or her services to employers or customers without a lasting contract.

Freelancing is a term being used more and more often these days. Though, it was not always like this. Whenever you hear the word ‘freelancing’, there are some words like the internet, computer or smartphone that come to mind and this is quite expected because these are mainly the tools of the 21st-century freelancer

The development and growth of the freelance workforce is increasing and has overtaken the whole growth of the U.S. workforce by three (3) times ever since the year 2014.

There are various freelancing sites where you can start getting a job online, all you just need to do is to set-up a standard profile, find projects and start bidding, then work on any job awarded to you. Some of the Freelancing sites where one can easily find a different kind of jobs and make money online are freelancer.com, upwork.com, guru.com, peopleperhour.com, Fiverr.com, 99designs.com etc.

Whereas the skills that are available on the freelancing sites are: Writing, Photography, Video (Social Media Videos), Graphics Design,  Blogging, Search Engine Optimization, Digital Marketing, Telemarketing, Software Development, Customer care assistant, Professional Services, Web Development, Data Entry, Project Management, Virtual Assistant, Talking, Create/Sell Algorithms, Research Assistant, Translation service, Opinion Polls, and some special Software Skills -SPSS, STATA, R, EPANET, SOLID WORK, EDGE 3D, CINEMA 3D, CREO, ORACLE PRIMAVERA, FINAL CUT etc.

For you to enjoy a successful freelancing lifestyle, there is need to get a freelance trainer or attend a seminar or workshop on freelance training in order to learn how to create a good profile, how to bid effectively for jobs, how to improve your freelancing skills, and how to easily transferred money from your freelancing account to your local bank account. As at 31st of May 2019, over 55.5% of Nigerians uses the internet and Nigeria is presently ranked 7th position in the world, which is HIGHER than countries like UK, Russia, Mexico and France on internet usage. In spite of the high cost of internet services, poor power supply and average literacy level. The question is WHAT FOR?

With all these spendings on internet subscription and the increasing number of internet users, Nigerians still cry that THERE IS NO JOB.
